Useful SEO Marketing information.

what is seoSearch Engine Optimization or SEO marketing for short is constantly evolving.

SEO Marketing is constantly evolving because search engines and the Internet are dynamic.  Content is changing at breakneck speed thanks to the hour-by-hour addition of newly published press releases, blogs, articles, videos, social media profiles, and, of course, the never-ending updating of existing content.

Trouble is, far too many companies aren’t changing with it. And as a result, their websites aren’t generating leads. You can’t just put up a website, then forget about SEO marketing for your website’s optimization. If you do that, it won’t take long for your company’s website to fall to the bottom of, or worse yet, out of search engine result pages (SERPs).

In the old days – five or so years ago in technology terms – optimizing a website used to be easy. And rewarding. Doing so typically garnered companies a 20% or more increase in targeted traffic. That was all well and good then, but these days SEO has changed dramatically thanks to things like semantic search, real-time content, social media signals, Panda update, Google Plus (G+) and mobile, just to name a few. It’s changes like these that are forcing companies to re-think and re-adjust their SEO marketing strategies.

What can you do to make the most of today’s SEO marketing changes?

Develop a SEO marketing strategy by first optimizing your website. If you’ve already done so, revisit it. Once that’s done, be sure to add Google Analytics to your website, so you can track the return on investment of your SEO, and on any social media efforts you may be employing.

Update your website with fresh content. Don’t make the mistake a lot of companies make and think of your website as a print brochure. Brochures are static. The Internet is not. It’s constantly changing. So should your content. Changing it can be as easy as creating and adding new content such as white papers, case studies and e-newsletters.

Become a blogger. Or hire one. Google indexes blogs about as quickly as they get posted. When optimized properly, they can stay atop SERPs for months, even longer. They’re a great way to show off your industry knowledge, other bloggers can link to them, and journalists can find them when searching for sources for articles. Not only does all this increase your online exposure, it also drives more traffic to your site.

Create a Google Plus (G+) page for your business. Having one is beneficial even if you don’t use social media. Your G+ page can include links back to your website, along with other information about your company. You can also use your page to stay connected with industry associates, as well as with customers and prospects. All of which gets noticed by Google, and gets indexed for future searches.
